OUR STORY.

Even though Laniakea Waters is a young industrial group, its story began almost a century ago, at the foot of a magnificent mountain in the Alps.

1890

QUITE SIMPLY A FAMILY STORY

Gabriel Bonfils, the great-grandfather of Jean-Hugues Gavarini, the founder of Laniakea Waters, launches his lemonade production. Many lemonade makers in the region followed his initiative until 1950.

At his time, there were sixty lemonade makers in Savoie who all used the same recipe based on sugar syrup, water and carbon dioxide, but Gabriel Bonfils's was delicious, way above the rest. The difference? it was the quality of the water he used! In fact, he got this water from one of the purest mountain springs in the Alps.

1977

A LEGACY STORY

During the summer of 1977, Jean-Hugues GAVARINI understood that a mission had been entrusted to him. Words from his great-grandmother, Marie Césarine Bonfils, call to him to tell him: “You know, the water you are drinking is one of the purest and most abundant there is your great-grandfather made a delicious lemonade, it was particularly popular in the region. Remember this for life, there is pure water in our village, lots of water.”

Since that day, the particular desire to preserve this water and that of the world naturally overwhelmed Jean-Hugues GAVARINI.

Our incessant quest for innovation pushes us to develop advanced technologies guaranteeing water that is always pure and of superior quality.

2012-2019

A VISIONARY AND DISRUPTIVE APPROACH

During this period, Jean-Hugues working in the development of high-end and luxury brands; but that does not prevent him from being haunted by the desire to launch an innovative project around water.

Throughout his years of experience, he continued to think about a visionary and disruptive approach, reinventing the way in which water would be purchased, distributed, shared and above all preserved thanks to a model designed to be sustainable.

2019-2020

TEAM BUILDING

During the month of July, Jean-Hugues met Xavier POUTEAU, the first partner to join the adventure. Very quickly, the two men realized that they shared the same values: Preserve and protect natural resources, enhance the region, create jobs, offer a healthy and transparent culture to employees, stakeholders and customers — in consistency with the fundamental principles of sustainable development.

A few months later, the team was completed with Sébastien KVOT and Éric GAULLE, one a legal expert and the other an industrial engineering expert.

2022-2023

LAKE PARTNERSHIP

In mid-2022, the Team decides to launch a fundraising round, aiming to propel critical elements of the project, including health authority water studies and LAKE partnership's closing.

In early 2023, a successful fundraising validates the project's vision, enabling the formation of a more extended team.

Since then, the water studies have started and the partnership with the swiss company LAKE has been closed.
